The Epicurean, the Lowland classic blend from the independent bottler Douglas Laing has announced the second edition of their Epicurean Wood Series and this one will be a Cognac finish. This edition follows the Cote Rotie finish that was out last year. The second edition is finished in only two selected Cognac single casks and was then bottled at a pretty high abv of 48%. As usual with Douglas Laing, we have a non-chill filtered whisky with 100% natural colour. Thanks to the Cognac cask the colour is of a very nice golden. This great series aims at showing the influence of different cask finishes on a blend. The first edition was very well received by the community and no doubt that this edition, with only 402 bottles will also be a success. Especially with an announced retail price tag of £59.99.

The whisky should be soon available at our partner shops. Meanwhile don't forget to check other versions of the Epicurean including their cask strength or their classic bottling. They are very good drinks for their price and a great introduction to Lowland whiskies.

The Epicurean Wood Finish #2 will be available in a nice tube box. We will keep you informed on our Facebook page when available.
