Information about CLYNELISH distillery

Pronunciation: [cline*leash] Water source: Clynemilton Burn Maturation: Mainly ex-bourbon and some ex-sherry barrels. Style: Waxy, heathery. Smell and taste: Flowery, waxy, lightly smoky in the smell and the tast is really waxy, creamy and ightly spicy with a hint of tobacco. Body: Medium Curiosities: One of the iconic distilleries. It was closed several times but it survived the 80's. They produce great spirit in 1995! 14 YO release is uncomparable with other single malts. The uniquely waxy style comes from the spirit stills themselves which are unusually bigger than the wash stills. Widely used by independent bottlers. Distillery capacity: 4.8 M litres.
